Thoughts I think about things

Layover

World’s Greatest Internship. Six interns from around the world go around the world for six months. Six interns and I’m one of them. Unreal. Surreal. Lovely.

There are 22 hours to go until I get to Berlin, and 22 hours to go until I greet jetlag like an old friend. Not lovely.

Though my body clock is about to do some serious suffering, travelling across time zones has given me time to think. My day is someone else’s night is someone else’s afternoon. I find it all too easy to forget that the thousands of people you pass in the airport are not extras in your movie. Everybody else’s life is as complex, easy, difficult, jarring, heartbreaking, and lovely as my own. My ordinary Monday is someone else’s best Tuesday is someone else’s Birthday is someone else’s anniversary.

Thinking about how you make other people’s movies look when you’re their extra does a world of good.

That being said, for the next 22 hours, it definitely feels like this is my movie.
